Welcome to the homepage of the Equine Species Working Group (ESWG)
This working group was formed to review and evaluate the possible role of the National Animal Identification System (NAIS) within the Equine Industry.
Many in the horse industry are just learning of the NAIS and they are naturally concerned about it, and have many questions.
The purpose of this website is to address these concerns and questions, clarify the purposes of the national identification system and its potential benefits, and explain how the horse industry is responding and what this program means to horse owners and breeders.
